Shelomith Learning Center, Inc. provides flexible payment plans for tuition, books, and entrance fees to make financial management easier for parents. The grading system is designed to track student progress through a range of assessments, ensuring a thorough understanding of each learner’s achievements. With these systems in place, we aim to support both the academic and financial needs of our students and their families.
Tuition and special fees (including discounts and other privileges) are determined by the Chief Executive Officer during the enrollment period. The school, through the Accounting Office, has developed payment plans to assist parents and guardians with their financial obligations.
Book Fees: 50% payment upon registration, with the balance to be paid in 3 monthly installments.
Entrance Fees: 25% payment upon registration, with the balance to be paid in 4 monthly installments.
Tuition Fees:
Plan A: Full tuition fees for the entire year are paid upon registration, with a 3% discount.
Plan B: Tuition fees for the first month are paid upon registration, and tuition fees for the following months are due by the 28th of each month.
Certification: Any certification requested from the Accounting Office will be issued upon payment of the applicable fee and within 48 hours from the date of the request.
Parents and students are reminded to retain their official receipts for all payments made.
All financial matters must be settled at the Student Accounts Office.
Upon making payments, parents and students are required to bring their handbook for recording purposes. The admission slip is located at the back of the handbook. The pupil must have the Accounting Office sign the designated slip for validation. A school seal and signature will appear on the blank portion of the form.
The Grade School and Secondary Departments implement an electronic approval system that emphasizes cooperative learning, with clearly defined objectives and an ongoing assessment framework to monitor student performance.
The key objectives of the assessment system are as follows:
To encourage students to become "Peak Performance Individuals."
To foster peer-to-peer learning through idea exchange, collaboration, and mutual support.
To enhance students' communication skills and deepen their understanding of the subject matter.
To promote reflection on the learning process.
To provide team teaching opportunities and empower students to choose the most suitable technology for learning.
At the end of each school year, Shelomith Learning Center, Inc. conducts sectioning to group students based on their academic needs and abilities. The grouping is designed to ensure that students are placed in the most suitable environment for their learning. For advanced learners, a homogeneous grouping scheme is applied to foster a more focused and accelerated learning experience. On the other hand, the average group follows a heterogeneous approach, encouraging diverse interactions and collaborative learning among students.
Assessment plays a crucial role in the educational process, as it provides valuable insights into a student's academic progress and achievements across various subjects. It serves as a tool to gauge how well students are meeting the learning objectives and helps identify areas for improvement. Our assessment approach goes beyond traditional testing to evaluate the full scope of student performance, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of their learning journey.
The Screening Test is conducted for placement and admission purposes. It helps determine whether a student qualifies for the advanced or regular group, particularly in cases where enrollment numbers exceed 40 students in a grade level. This ensures that students are placed in the appropriate group based on their learning needs, fostering an environment where they can thrive.
Post tests are administered to assess how well students have grasped the material taught during the lesson. These tests are typically given after one or two specific skills have been introduced, allowing educators to measure the effectiveness of their teaching and provide additional support if necessary.
Periodical tests are conducted at the end of each grading period to evaluate the knowledge and skills acquired by students throughout the trimester. These tests cover all the material taught during the period and help track the students’ overall progress. The results are used to make informed decisions about further instructional strategies and interventions if needed.
The Achievement Test is administered at the end of the academic year to assess the overall knowledge and skills students have acquired in core subjects such as English, Science, and Mathematics. This test serves as a comprehensive evaluation of student performance and provides a final measure of their academic achievements for the year.
Shelomith Learning Center, Inc. follows the grading system outlined by the Department of Education under the K-12 Basic Education Program. This system evaluates students' performance across various subject areas, including Written Work, Performance Tasks, and specific subjects such as Languages, Science, Math, and more. For Grade 1 to Grade 10, the quarterly grades are calculated using the components below, with a combined weight of 60%. The final grade is determined through a transmutation process, where the initial grades are adjusted based on the Department of Education’s transmutation table to provide the final transmuted grade.
Components and Weight Distribution:
Written Work (60%): This includes subjects such as Languages, Araling Panlipunan (AP), Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EsP), Science, Math, MAPEH, and TLE/Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (Edukasyong Pangkabuhayan).
Performance Tasks (40%): This is applied across all subjects, focusing on the practical demonstration of knowledge and skills.
Transmutation of Grades:
The school follows the Department of Education's guidelines to convert initial grades into transmuted grades. The process involves translating the raw score into a range. For instance, a grade of 100 remains 100, while grades between 98.40 and 99.99 are transmuted to 99. Similarly, a score between 96.80 and 98.39 is transmuted to 98, and so on, with the ranges continuing downward. This ensures that grades are consistent and aligned with the K-12 grading system.
Final Grade Calculation:
The final grade for each subject is derived by averaging the grades for all the components within the grading period. These averages are then calculated for all subjects and are recorded in the report card and permanent school record.
The Mastery Test is designed to evaluate students’ proficiency in the skills taught over a specific period, usually after four weeks. It ensures that students have fully understood and can apply the skills learned in the classroom. The test builds on the post test and serves as a deeper measure of the student's mastery of the subject matter.
